Today on Episode 41 - MishMash

So a bit of good news this week. If you've been following along for a while you'll know that my web site is cookscrafts.info because the .com was a family in PA. Well they decided to give up the address as some company emailed me a couple weeks ago to see if i was interested in it for $557. WTF?!?

I of course said no way. and I waited. I had a feeling that the company only would be holding it for a short time and sure enough, this week it was freed and i picked it up and added it to my account. So now you can find us as .com, .info and .biz.

Elmer’s Glue is taking back empties.

Empty glue bottles and glue sticks, any brand.  Just wash them out, slap a return label on the box, and bring them to your local Wal-Mart before school ends.

I never really thought of empty glue bottles as a major threat to our landfills.  But that’s the point.  Anything you throw out, un-recycled, is one thing too many.  So kudos to Elmer’s for their new program.

Tell your kids. Tell your preschool and elementary school teachers. Tell the people at daycare.  And tell another mom.

Joke of the week:

A highway patrolman pulled alongside a speeding car on the freeway.

Glancing at the car, he was astounded to see that the blonde behind the

wheel was knitting!   Realizing that she was oblivious to his flashing

lights and siren, the trooper cranked down his window, turned on his

bullhorn and yelled, 'PULL OVER!'   'NO!' the blonde yelled back, 'IT'S A

SCARF!'

Everyone knows yarn prices have been going up along with everything else. But I just found there is some hope in site. there are 2 textile mills coming to Louisiana. On in Lacassine and one in Jefferson Davis Parish. Zagis is a mexican company expanding to the US. Because it will be manufactured so close to the product it should be the lowest cost yarn around.

Earth friendly power glue! Bonds with industrial strength to almost any material including wood, stone, metal, ceramic, glass, cloth and more! Non-Toxic, water-based, and excellent water resistance. Environmentally safe interior & exterior glue. Bottle and card 100% recyclable $4.99 ea

I usually wouldn't blog about this type of yarn this early in the season but Bernet is taking pre-orders now from distributors. So if anyone wants this yarn you need to call your craft/yarn store right away and tell them you are interested in it!
